{"id":14670,"date":"2025-08-19T19:07:32","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T19:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aacyf.org\/?p=14670"},"modified":"2025-08-19T19:07:34","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T19:07:34","slug":"the-academy-investigates-six-scientific-and-technical-areas-for-2025-awards-consideration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aacyf.org\/?p=14670","title":{"rendered":"THE ACADEMY INVESTIGATES SIX SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL AREAS FOR 2025 AWARDS CONSIDERATION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LOS ANGELES, CA (August 19, 2025)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that six distinct scientific and technical investigations have been launched for 2025 in the lead-up to the Scientific and Technical Awards on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These investigations are made public so that individuals and companies with devices or claims of innovation within these areas can submit achievements for review. &nbsp;The Academy\u2019s Scientific and Technical Awards Committee has started investigations into the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Small pyrotechnic devices that are safe to use in proximity to cast and crew<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layered shading systems for computer-generated imagery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Software suites for stop-motion photography<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Systems for custom art styles in animated features<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Automated speech restoration tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conform management and sound auto-assembly software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are inspired by the remarkable innovation shown in this year\u2019s applications.
