Stella Cole
Beginning with an impromptu a cappella clip of “Over the Rainbow,” Stella Cole became a global viral sensation for simply doing what she has been passionate about her whole life – singing songs from the Great American Songbook. To watch her perform is to be transported back in time. Her sense of joy and wonder is infectious – as one look at her massive social media following makes very clear. She has a combined social media following of over 1.6 million and her most viral singing video has a staggering 27 million views.
These fans are immediately struck by her rich tone, irresistible charm and extraordinary vocal control. However, what is particularly rare is her ability to interpret songs that were initially intended for actors in character in a direct, personally vulnerable way that connects to something within herself. Her incredible talent has quickly placed her in the lineage of the greatest interpreters of the repertoire.
Stella’s talents have caught the attention of superstars David Foster, James Taylor, Michael Buble, John Mayer and Meghan Trainor and she has graced the stages of Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Birdland and the Cafe Carlyle. In 2023, she toured the United States, Australia and New Zealand with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox. Her stylish, swinging rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” with the group, was met with mass acclaim, racking up more than 6 million views.
Stella’s uncanny ability to transcend generations and her enduring influence as a viral artist and live performer lays a promising foundation for a bright, bright future. Don’t miss your chance to catch this skyrocketing star performing live with a string quartet.
Norbert Leo Butz
Norbert Leo Butz is a two-time Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Musical and is one of only nine actors to have ever won the award twice as lead actor. In this special evening of story and song, Butz sings highlights from his storied three decades on the boards of Broadway – from his humble beginning as the 7th of 11 children (his first bed was a drawer!) to his Tony triumphs and everything in between.
Butz originated roles on Broadway in Jason Robert Browns’ The Last Five Years, Stephen Schwartz’s Wicked, in Andrew Lippa’s Big Fish, in Harry Connick Jr’s Thou Shalt Not (Tony nomination), in the Lincoln Center 2018 revival of My Fair Lady (Tony nomination) and his two Tony Award winning performances in David Yazbek’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and in Shaiman and Whitman’s Catch Me If You Can.
Butz’s television and film credits include Netflix’s Bloodline, Fosse/Verdon, Justified: City Primeval, and the soon to be released new series on FX from Ryan Murphy Gladiator: American Sports Story, as well as the recent Exorcist sequel by David Gordon Green.
In addition to excerpts from his signature roles, this versatile hyphenate will share a few original compositions from his 4 solo records and some surprising covers from Tom Waits, Elton John and Bruce Springsteen. Expect the unexpected in this singular evening of musical entertainment, by one of Broadway’s legendary leading men.
Matthew Morrison
Matthew Morrison, known for his standout role as Will Schuester on “Glee,” is a dynamic performer whose charisma and versatility have captivated audiences for years. With a background in musical theater, Morrison effortlessly blends his impressive vocal talents with a strong acting presence, bringing depth and charm to all his performances. Over the course of his illustrious career, he has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
Morrison made his debut on Broadway in Footloose, but his big break came when he was cast as heartthrob Link Larkin in the Tony-winning hit Hairspray. Morrison was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in The Light in the Piazza and received a Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for 10 Million Miles. Morrison starred in the Tony-winning revival of South Pacific at Lincoln Center Theater in New York and then returned to the stage as J.M. Barrie in the musical Finding Neverland, for which he received two Drama Desk nominations for his role, and won the category of Favorite Actor in a Musical in the Broadway.com Audience Awards.
Morrison was also nominated for a Best Actor Emmy Award as the iconic director of the glee club on Fox’s musical comedy series Glee . The show was created by Ryan Murphy and received the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 2010 and 2011. Morrison has had many other iconic roles on TV, most notably on the hit CBS show The Good Wife and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. He starred as the Grinch in NBC’s 2020 production Dr Seuss’ The Grinch Musical Live! and he’s also been a judge on the reality dance show So You Think You Can Dance on Fox. We are thrilled to welcome this Orange County School of the Arts alumni back home.
